Only dates I could source
Event pages go stale quickly, and a wrong date costs someone a trip. So this page holds only dates that an organiser has published. When the 2027 programmes appear, I will add them; until then, I show what happened in 2026 so you can see the shape of a Mindil year, and I mark it as past.
Chapter 2Every market night in the Dry
On Thursdays and Sundays during the market season the market publishes the same evening rhythm: live music at The Sound Shell from 5.00 to 5.45pm, 6.15 to 7.00pm and 7.45 to 8.30pm, and Mick's Whips at 7.30pm at the casino end. By the market's season rule, that runs from Thursday 29 April to Thursday 28 October 2027 — dates I have derived from the rule, not from a published calendar.
Chapter 3At the resort, every weekend
The resort lists live DJs at its Infinity bar on Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm. The bar itself runs from 1pm to 7pm, Friday to Sunday, and admits adults 18 and over only. Sandbar opens every day from 4pm. The resort's weddings, socials and conferences are private and are not listed as public events. See bars.
Chapter 4The 2026 calendar on Mindil Beach (past)

All three sat inside the Dry and on or beside the market grounds. If you are planning for mid-2027, it is reasonable to expect events of this kind again, but I would not book a flight around them until their organisers publish dates.
Chapter 5In town in 2027
Darwin Festival has published its 2027 dates: 4 to 22 August 2027. It is a city-wide festival rather than a Mindil event, but those three weeks sit squarely in the coolest part of the Dry, when the sunsets at the beach are at their most reliable. If your trip falls in that window, ask early.
