Five bars, or four
The resort's facility page says five stylish bars. Its About page says four unique bars. The bars menu on the same site lists five: Sandbar, Infinity, Lagoon Bar, The Vue Lounge and The Sportsbar. I suspect the difference is whether The Vue Lounge is counted as a bar or as part of the restaurant, but that is my guess, not the resort's statement. Here are all five, ordered by when the light suits them.
- 7am–10pm daily
The Vue Lounge
The earliest to open and the one you are most likely to pass through. Useful for a coffee or a quiet drink indoors in the heat of the day.
- 1pm–sunset daily
Lagoon Bar
The resort calls it Darwin's only swim-up bar. The swim-up side is for hotel and resort guests. It closes when the sun goes.
- 1pm–7pm Fri–Sun
Infinity
An adults-only (18+) bar by the infinity pool, with ocean views and live DJs on Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm. A day pass is available and redeemable on food and drink; the price is not published.
- 4pm–late daily
Sandbar
The resort's sunset bar, with a renovated outdoor deck facing the water. It can also be hired for private events.
- Noon–4am (Sat from 10am)
The Sportsbar
Giant screen for sport. The Sportsbar page lists Monday to Friday and Sunday 12pm–4am and Saturday 10am–4am; the bars index says 10am–4am every day. Check on the day.
Sandbar is the one
If I had one evening and no market, I would be on the Sandbar deck by six. The resort sells it as having the best sunset views in the Top End, which is the kind of claim every waterfront bar makes, but the geography backs it up: open water, nothing between you and the horizon, and an opening time of 4pm that leaves room to settle in. In the Dry the sun sets between 6.29pm and 6.44pm; in the Wet between about 6.42pm and 7.19pm. The sunset table has the month you need.
Chapter 3Lagoon Bar — in the water
A swim-up bar in a city where the sea comes with warnings is a genuinely useful thing. Lagoon Bar trades every day from 1pm until sunset. If you are staying in a Superior Lagoon Room, you can swim to it from your own deck. Guests in other rooms reach it through the resort grounds.

Infinity — adults, weekends, afternoons
The Infinity bar is open only from Friday to Sunday, 1pm to 7pm, and only to people aged 18 and over. Its pitch is the infinity pool looking out to sea, with DJs on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Day passes exist and the value can be spent on food and drink; I could not find the price, so I am not printing one. In the Dry the bar closes after sunset. In December, January and February the sun sets after 7pm, so you would see the build-up of colour but not the final minutes from there.
Chapter 5A note on drinking in the heat
Darwin afternoons are hot and humid, especially from November. Water between drinks, shade between swims, and a hat at the lagoon. The market next door is BYO, but the resort's bars are licensed venues with their own rules.
