This website
I built this site to be read without a mouse and without perfect eyesight. Every page has a skip link, a single main heading, a logical heading order and real text rather than text inside pictures. Every picture has a written description. The form fields have visible labels, the dates are typed as plain text (YYYY-MM-DD) rather than a date-picker that changes with your browser's language, and the success or error message is announced to screen readers.
Smooth scrolling is turned off if your device asks for reduced motion. On most pages the Google map does not load until you press a button for it. If something on this site is hard to use, write to hello@mindilsunsetstays.com and tell me what device and software you use.
Chapter 2The resort
The resort's pages I read do not describe accessible rooms, step-free routes or pool hoists. I am not going to guess. If you need an accessible room, put the details in your request and the desk will ask the resort for specifics before you commit to anything. The resort's reservations line is +61 8 8943 8881.
Chapter 3The market next door
The Mindil Beach Sunset Market says disabled parking is available, getting around the market itself is no problem, and there are accessible toilets in each toilet block, in the Territory Space and the Community Space. It also says there is no direct wheelchair access onto the beach.
Chapter 4Heat as an access issue
Darwin's heat and humidity affect many people with health conditions, especially in the Wet, when Tourism NT puts humidity above 80%. Plan outdoor time for the early morning and the hour before sunset, keep water with you, and use the bus or a taxi rather than walking in the middle of the day. Routes are on getting here.
