Who writes this
Mindil Sunset Stays is an independent guide to a single resort: Mindil Beach Casino Resort in Darwin. It is written in the first person by our editor, who handles the facts and the room request desk. We started in 2026. We are not the resort, we are not owned by it or by its operator, and we do not speak for either.
The site is organised around one hour of the day because that is what most people come to this beach for. Rooms, bars, restaurants and routes are described by what they let you do at the end of the afternoon.
Chapter 2How facts get onto the page
Every factual line on this site comes from a source I can name, and most pages end with the list of sources and the date I checked them — for this first edition, 31 October 2026. In order of trust:
- The resort's own website.
- Its operator.
- Official bodies: Tourism NT, Darwin International Airport, Surf Life Saving, the Mindil Beach Sunset Market Association, the US Naval Observatory for sun times.
- Secondary sources such as Wikipedia or travel publications, marked as secondary where I use them.
If I cannot find a source, the fact is not on the site. If two sources disagree — the number of rooms, the number of bars, a bar's opening hours — I print both and say so.
Chapter 3What I do not do
- I do not give star ratings or scores. They would suggest a precision I do not have.
- I do not invent reviews, guests or quotes.
- I do not print prices, because they change daily and a wrong one does harm.
- I do not write about games, promotions or internet gambling. The casino page sticks to age, hours and support.
Pictures
The pictures on this site are illustrations in an oil-pastel style, made for this guide. They are not photographs of the resort, and they do not show its real buildings, rooms or dishes. For photographs, use the resort's own site.
Chapter 5Corrections
Things change: hours, menus, renovation dates. If something here is out of date or wrong, write to hello@mindilsunsetstays.com with the page and, if you can, a source. I correct errors and note the date of the check.
