In one paragraph
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, shows no advertising and loads no tracking scripts. The only personal information we collect is what you type into the request form or send us by email, and we use it to answer your request. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles (OAIC) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) as our standard for handling it.
Chapter 2What the form collects
| Your name and email | Required, to reply |
|---|---|
| Phone number | Optional — only if you want a call or a text |
| Dates, guests, room and trip type | To check availability |
| Your notes | Whatever you choose to tell us |
| The page you sent it from | So we know which part of the guide you were reading |
| Technical details | Your IP address and browser identification string, recorded by our server with the request to protect against spam |
What we do with it
- We read your request and check availability and rates with the resort or a booking partner. To do that, we share only what they need: your dates, number of guests, room preference and, where needed to hold or quote a room, your name.
- We reply by email, or by phone if you gave a number and asked for that.
- We keep a record of requests so we can follow up, and so that commission on a confirmed stay can be matched to a request.
- We do not sell your information, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it is kept
The site is hosted on a DigitalOcean server in Sydney, Australia, and served through Cloudflare, which processes every page request (including your IP address) to deliver and protect the site. Form submissions are stored on that server and passed to our own request system. If you email us, your message passes through our email provider.
Chapter 5Google Maps
On the front page the map stays switched off until you press "Show the Google map". On the getting here page a Google map is embedded and loads as you scroll down to it. Once a Google map loads, Google receives your IP address and browser details under its own privacy policy. Links that say "Open in Google Maps" or "Directions" take you to Google's site.
Chapter 6Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to hello@mindilsunsetstays.com. We will answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner: OAIC privacy complaints.
This note was written on 1 November 2026. If we change how we handle information — for example, if we ever connect an analytics or advertising service — this page will say so before it happens.
