The view down, not out
This room looks over the lagoon rather than straight at the sea. In the evening that means watching the pool change colour — turquoise going to slate, then holding the orange of the sky for a few minutes after the sun is gone. I like that; it is a softer version of the sunset, reflected rather than direct.
The resort describes the balcony as having an outdoor setting, so there is somewhere to sit, and the room itself as having a spacious luxury bathroom, a flat-screen TV and a minibar.
Chapter 2Compared with the Superior Lagoon Room
The difference is one floor and a set of steps into the water. The Superior Lagoon Room has a private deck at pool level; this one has a balcony above. If you prefer privacy from people swimming past, the first floor is the better seat.
Chapter 3Worth asking
Which side of the lagoon the room faces and how close it is to the Lagoon Bar, which trades from 1pm until sunset every day.
