What I like about it
Height. A balcony one, two or three floors above the gardens gives you a little distance from the paths and a view across the treetops. In a place where the main event is a low sun over flat water, that small lift matters more than it would in a city hotel. The resort's description is short — stylish, well equipped, a private balcony — and I would rather have short and accurate than long and vague.
The bedding choices are the most practical in the hotel. Two king singles for friends sharing; a queen plus a king single for a parent and a child; one king for a couple.
Chapter 2What I would ask
Which level, and which side of the building. The resort does not say whether Deluxe Rooms face the sea or the gardens, and the answer changes the evening. I would also ask whether the room is in a part of the hotel that falls inside the Stage 2 renovation, which runs from 1 November 2026 to mid-April 2027.
Chapter 3Who it fits
Travellers who will spend most of the day out — at the market, the gardens or the museum along the shore — and want a clean base with somewhere to sit outside when they get back. If you want to be in the water more than looking at it, read the Superior Lagoon Room instead.
