Chapter 1What the resort has announced
On its hotel page the resort says Stage 2 of its hotel renovations will commence on 1 November 2026 and continue until mid-April 2027. During that time, it says, guests may experience occasional construction noise and temporary changes to access routes in some areas of the hotel and resort. The remainder of the resort's facilities will operate as normal. The same page talks about a newly refurbished hotel with refreshed guest rooms and an enhanced reception — the result, I assume, of an earlier stage.
Chapter 2What it does not say
It does not say which rooms are in Stage 2, which wing, which floors, or what the working hours are. It does not say whether any restaurant or bar will close. On the same day I read the notice, the restaurant index listed The Vue as "Operating at il Piatto", which suggests at least one service has moved, though the resort does not link the two.
Chapter 3How I would book during the works
- Write "quiet room, away from renovation works" in the request. It costs nothing and puts the question on record.
- Ask whether the room category you want is affected on your dates.
- Ask where breakfast is being served.
- Consider the resort-wing rooms around the lagoon, which are described separately from the hotel. The notice speaks of the hotel; it does not say whether the resort wing is affected.
- Expect the pools, the spa and Sandbar to be the centre of the stay. They are listed with their normal hours.
Who should wait
If you are a light sleeper on a short, special trip — an anniversary, a honeymoon — and your dates are flexible, I would aim for late April 2027 onwards, after the stated end of the works and in time for the market's new season. If your dates are fixed inside the window, a well-placed request is the best protection.
